Did you read the whole Bible when you were a JW?
by outofthebox inafter an informal poll in my congregation (and many awkward responses) i found out that almost nobody had read the whole bible ever, not even the elders (surprise!).
brothers and sisters with 20, 30, 40 and 50 years as jws don't know what the bible says.
so, if god decides that a test is coming, will they pass it?

by Chalam inwell it looks like this site is a real melting pot, a broad spectrum of views and beliefs.
for sure there are many disaffected ex jws.
so in as few words as possible, preferably not more than one sentence, how would you describe yourself spiritually?

Being a Mason is a good thing.
It is silly to use guilt by association since those associated are not bad to begin with.
Russell and his Bible Students were nothing like the Jehovah's Witnesses created by Judge Rutherford.

Abraham Lincoln is the worst US President from 1789-2007.
His contempt for the rights of individuals and trashing the constitution in the name of saving the Union are even worse than what George W. Bush is doing now in the name of national security.
Abraham Lincoln killed the Democratic Republic of Jefferson and Madison laying the foundation for a tyrannical despotic American Empire.
Woodrow Wilson, FDR and LBJ are the 2nd, 3rd and 4th worst Presidents. Those three built upon Lincoln's all powerfull central state and each increasingly destroyed more and more individual liberty and ignored private property rights.

I loved the 1954 novel, "I Am Legend" by Richard Matheson. He wrote some of the best Twilight Zone episodes and movies were made from his other novels, "Stir Of Echoes" "Hell House" and "What Dreams May Come".
Vincent Price was the star of the first movie adaptation of "I Am Legend" it was made in Italy about 1962 titled, "The Last Man On Earth". Then it was remade in America in the 1970's as "The Omega Man".
I hated the butchering of Isaac Asimov's "I, Robot" by Will Smith. I was planning on seeing "I Am Legend" but I did not have high hopes of a good movie.

According to the all black cast member 1930's movie,"Green Pastures" Noah had a keg of liquor on the ark. He asked the Lord for two kegs so he could use them to balance the ark, but the Lord sternly replied,"One keg Noah!"

The biggest secret of the Masons is, there is no secret.
As far as the oaths go, they are just a sense of theater, nothing more.

It is not as if being a Mason is a bad thing. Masons were at the forefront of the 18th century Enlightenment. The 18th century Masons were liberal minded folks who believed that individuals should have political and religious liberty. 18th century Masons believed that reason and science will improve humanity. 18th centry Masons were the driving force to free individuals from the authoritarian tyranny of the Church and Monarchy. Modern day Masons are very good people who do not engage in any conspiracies. Anti-Masonic rhetoric is unproven baloney.
